‘Lizzie McGuire’ to Divorce Husband of Three Years for Partying Too Much

“Lizzie McGuire” actress Hillary Duff has just filed for divorce against estranged husband, former NHL player Mike Comrie, after three years of marriage.

The two have amicably split in January 2014 but it was only this February 2015 that Hillary Duff decided to file the divorce papers in court. The filing actually came in light of recent reports that Mike Comrie got wildly drunk recently in Beverly Hills and was apparently seen chatting up and hitting with waitresses at swank eatery Mastros.

In December last year, Hillary Duff was actually saying different things about her estranged husband, notes Contactmusic.com

During an interview with a health magazine, the 27-year-old actress disclosed that her marriage with Mike Comrie was not a totally lost cause, hinting of a possibility that they might get back together again.

She was quoted by the magazine as saying then that their split was an amicable one because they still love each other and that they have a two-year-old son Luca together. Luca will be turning three years old in March.

Hillary said that the split was their way of figuring out how they can be both happy, whether they’re together or apart, because they are doing it as lovingly as possible.

The actress and her former hockey player husband were actually seen together over the past several of months and even went on a vacation together with their son recently even when they have already split.

But with the recent partying antics of Mike Comrie, ‘Lizzie McGuire’ seems to be singing a different tune these days and she did it without crooning even a simple note by filing for divorce.

The actress also tapped the services of reputable celebrity attorney Laura Wasser to represent her in the divorce case she filed against Mike Comrie.

In her divorce petition, Hillary Duff cited irreconcilable differences as the primary cause of their marriage. She is also requesting from the court primary physical custody of their son Luca.

Hillary is also affording Comrie to have visitation rights to Luca but she is nonetheless worried that the partying lifestyle of his estranged husband might have a negative impact on their young son.

With the filing of divorce papers, the “Lizzie McGuire” actress obviously wants to be single again and not wait up on his estranged husband to mature as his wild partying antics indicate that it will really be a long time coming still.
